Vote "No" on Amendment 1

Dundee GOP Meetings:

Illinois voters will decide Nov. 8 whether to adopt a radical amendment to the Illinois Constitution that would hike taxes and empower special interests. Those are just two of eight reasons why Amendment 1 is bad for Illinoisans.  See more from Illinois Policy Institute.

Chicago Tribune endorses "Vote No" on Amendment 1.  “We endorse a no vote.  We support the rights of unions to represent their members and to bargain collectively for the best deal they can secure.  But we do not see an Illinois threat to those rights, and we see this endorsement as an opening to skew the balance of power in the public sector to an unacceptable degree.”  Read more about endorsement.

A review of Illinois’ state statutes shows that Amendment 1 would allow government unions to override more than 350 provisions related to schools, children and other residents.  Read more.
